Which airport or terminal

  • At LAX: ANA, ZIPAIR and Singapore Airlines check in and depart at Terminal B. Japan Airlines checks in at Terminal 4 and departs from Terminal B. American checks in at Terminals 4 and 5, with international arrivals at Terminal B. Delta checks in at Terminal 3 and departs from Terminal 2. United is at Terminals 7–8 [S6].
  • In Tokyo: Haneda (HND) is closer to the city; Narita (NRT) is farther out and closed overnight (midnight–06:00) with no airside overnight stay (see the Tokyo hub page).

Connection tips if you're continuing on

  • Match the Tokyo airport to your onward flight. Changing between Haneda and Narita is a full airport change; JAL's own minimum is 3 hours or more (see the Tokyo hub page).
  • Onward to Manila: Philippine Airlines and JAL fly Tokyo–Manila from both Haneda and Narita (see Manila to Tokyo).
  • Coming from Dallas/Fort Worth: American and JAL also fly DFW–Haneda nonstop, which skips this leg (see Dallas/Fort Worth to Tokyo). Otherwise see Dallas/Fort Worth to Los Angeles.

Passport notes

  • US passports: visa-exempt in Japan for up to 90 days (see the Tokyo hub page).
  • Philippine passports: a visa is needed to enter Japan; same-day airside transfers are allowed, but airport changes or overnight connections may need a visa (see the Tokyo hub page).
