San Francisco to Taipei: flying it nonstop on four airlines
Last checked
Flying it: nonstop options
Which airport or terminal
- At SFO: EVA Air, China Airlines and STARLUX use International Terminal A; United's international flights use International Terminal G [S3].
- At Taipei (TPE): EVA Air and United use Terminal 2; China Airlines and STARLUX fly their Americas routes from T2 (see the Taipei hub page).
Connection tips if you're continuing on
- Onward to Manila: EVA Air (T2), China Airlines and STARLUX (Asia routes mostly from T1) and Philippine Airlines all fly Taipei–Manila (see Manila to Taipei).
- T2 to T1 at Taoyuan: take the free Skytrain, check in at the transfer counter and go through security (see the Taipei hub page).
- Coming from Dallas/Fort Worth: see Dallas/Fort Worth to San Francisco. United domestic to United's Taipei flight, or American to STARLUX on a codeshare, keeps both legs on one ticket [S2].
- Long layover in Taipei: Taiwan's free half-day tour runs for 7–24 hour layovers (see the Taipei hub page).
Passport notes
- US passports: visa-exempt in Taiwan for 90 days; file the online arrival card (TWAC) within 7 days before arrival (see the US passport cheat sheet).
- Philippine passports: visa-exempt 14 days on a trial basis until July 31, 2027, with conditions (see the Taipei hub page).
