Manila to Kuala Lumpur: flying it nonstop, and which KLIA terminal

Last checked

Flying it: nonstop options

  • Philippine Airlines flies Manila–Kuala Lumpur nonstop twice a day (PR525 and PR529, both daily) in its winter timetable for Oct 25, 2026–Mar 27, 2027 [S1].
  • AirAsia and Cebu Pacific: Malaysia's Ministry of Transport lists AirAsia (including AirAsia Philippines) and Cebu Pacific among the airlines at KLIA Terminal 2 [S2], but that list looks dated and doesn't show routes, so their Manila–Kuala Lumpur flights aren't confirmed; check with your airline.
  • Malaysia Airlines sells flights to the Philippines [S3]; a current Manila–Kuala Lumpur nonstop wasn't confirmed on an official page, so check with your airline.

Which airport or terminal

  • Manila (NAIA): PAL's and AirAsia Philippines' international flights use Terminal 1 after the March 29, 2026 reassignment [S4]. Check NNIC's list for other airlines [S5].
  • Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) has two terminals, T1 and T2 (formerly klia2), about 2 km apart [S2]. Low-cost airlines use T2 [S2]. Check your ticket, especially if you're connecting.

Connection tips if you're continuing on

  • To Penang: see Kuala Lumpur to Penang. Malaysia Aviation Group's Firefly flies jets from KLIA Terminal 1 [S6].
  • To Singapore: see Kuala Lumpur to Singapore.
  • Changing between T1 and T2 on separate tickets means entering Malaysia; allow at least 3 hours (our guidance, not an official rule).

Passport notes

  • US passports: no visa for short visits (90 days per the US State Department; not fully confirmed, so check with your airline); fill in the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within 3 days before arrival (see the US passport cheat sheet).
  • Philippine passports: Malaysia's rules for Philippine passports aren't covered here; check with your airline.
