Kuala Lumpur to Singapore: flying it nonstop

Last checked

Flying it: nonstop options

  • Singapore Airlines operates nonstop Kuala Lumpur–Singapore flights several times a day, about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes [S1], and nonstop Singapore–Kuala Lumpur flights in the other direction [S2].
  • Firefly (Malaysia Aviation Group) flies jets from KLIA Terminal 1 and increased its Singapore frequencies from October 2025 [S3].
  • Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Scoot and Batik Air are reported to fly the route too (not confirmed on an official page; check with your airline).

Which airport or terminal

  • Kuala Lumpur (KLIA): two terminals, T1 and T2 (formerly klia2), about 2 km apart. Low-cost airlines such as AirAsia use T2 [S4]; Firefly's jets use T1 [S3].
  • Singapore (Changi): T1, T2 and T3 are linked airside by Skytrain; T4 is reached by shuttle bus (see the Singapore hub page). Which terminal your airline uses isn't covered here; check with your airline.

Connection tips if you're continuing on

  • Coming from Manila: you can fly Manila–Singapore nonstop instead (see Manila to Singapore); routing via Kuala Lumpur only makes sense for a stopover or a specific itinerary.
  • Long layover in Singapore: Changi's Free Singapore Tour runs for 5.5–24 hour layovers (see the Singapore hub page).
  • On separate tickets, you'll clear immigration at whichever end you start the new ticket. Allow at least 3 hours (our guidance, not an official rule).

Passport notes

  • US passports: Malaysia: no visa for short visits, MDAC within 3 days before arrival. Singapore: no visa needed, SG Arrival Card required (see the US passport cheat sheet).
  • Philippine passports: Singapore: no visa needed (see the Singapore hub page). Malaysia's rules for Philippine passports aren't covered here; check with your airline.
