Manila to Lahore: connect in Dubai, Doha or Bangkok?
Last checked
Nonstop or connecting?
- No nonstop Manila–Lahore flight was found on any official airline page. Plan on one connection.
Hub options
| Hub | Legs (verified) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai (DXB) | Emirates Manila–Dubai, 28 flights a week [S1]; Emirates Dubai–Lahore, EK 622/624, 10 flights a week [S2] | One airline, one ticket, bags checked through. Most frequencies. The Dubai–Lahore departures cluster around 03:10 and 21:00–21:40 (per Emirates' schedule [S2]), so some connections are long. Dubai Connect hotel may apply for 6–26h connections on Emirates tickets (see the Dubai hub page). |
| Doha (DOH) | Qatar Airways Manila–Doha [S3]; Qatar Airways Doha–Lahore [S4] | One airline. Frequencies not shown on Qatar's pages (not confirmed on an official page; check with your airline). Oryx airside hotel for long waits. |
| Bangkok (BKK) | Manila–Bangkok on Philippine Airlines (PAL lists Bangkok among its Manila connections [S5]) or Thai (not confirmed on an official page; check with your airline); Thai Airways Bangkok–Lahore [S6] | Shortest flying distance. Thai's Pakistan route page lists Bangkok–Islamabad, –Lahore and –Karachi [S6], but frequencies and whether every flight is nonstop aren't confirmed; check with your airline. PAL + Thai on separate tickets means a self-transfer (see pitfalls). |
| Abu Dhabi (AUH) / others | Etihad and other carriers (not confirmed on an official page; check with your airline) | Not confirmed; check with your airline. |
Which hub to pick and why
- Default: Dubai on Emirates. The most frequencies on both legs, one ticket, and a big airside hotel/lounge network for long waits.
- Doha on Qatar Airways is the equal alternative; choose it on schedule or alliance (oneworld).
- Bangkok is geographically shortest but usually means mixing airlines. Only pick it if it's on one ticket, or if you can enter Thailand to self-transfer (US passports: 30 days visa-exempt, TDAC arrival card; see the US passport cheat sheet).
- Philippine passport holders: staying airside in Dubai doesn't require a transit visa; leaving the airport does (48h/96h airline-sponsored transit visas). Doha's Oryx hotel is airside, no visa needed. For Thailand entry on a Philippine passport, check the Thai MFA (not confirmed here; check with your airline).
Pakistan entry
- We haven't confirmed Pakistan's visa rules for US or Philippine passports yet. Pakistan's online visa system is at https://visa.nadra.gov.pk; confirm the requirements there before booking.
Pitfalls
- Late-night/early-morning arrivals in Lahore are common on Gulf connections.
- Overseas Filipino Workers' exit paperwork (OEC) isn't covered here; check with your airline. IACAT departure checks and travel tax apply to departing Filipinos (see the Manila hub page).
- Separate tickets via Bangkok: if the first flight is late, the second airline has no obligation to rebook you.
