Manila to Dubai: nonstop is the norm

Last checked

Nonstop or connecting?

  • Emirates flies Manila–Dubai nonstop, 28 flights a week (about four a day) on the Boeing 777, around 8h30–8h45. Flights include EK 331, 333, 335 and 337 [S1].
  • Philippine Airlines (PR 658/659) and Cebu Pacific (5J 14/15, four weekly, resumed July 2026) also fly Manila–Dubai nonstop, according to news reports. Neither was confirmed on the airline's own site, so check with your airline.
  • Connecting makes sense only for a stopover or to use a specific airline.

Hub options (if connecting)

HubTypical airlinesNotes
Doha (DOH)Qatar Airways MNL–DOH [S2], then DOH–DXB (not confirmed on an official page; check with your airline)Short hop at the end; pointless unless you want a Doha stop.
Singapore (SIN) / Bangkok (BKK) / Hong Kong (HKG)Singapore Airlines, Thai, Cathay (onward leg to DXB not confirmed; check with your airline)Backtracking east-to-west; only for a planned stopover.

Which hub to pick and why

  • Fly nonstop. Emirates has the most frequencies; PAL and Cebu Pacific are alternatives (verify on their sites).
  • If you're continuing beyond Dubai (Europe, Pakistan, Africa), you're already using Dubai as the hub. See the Dubai hub page for terminals, the Dubai Connect hotel program (6–26h, Emirates tickets) and transit visas.

Passport notes for arriving in Dubai

  • US passport: a 90-day multiple-entry visa is stamped on arrival; no advance visa needed (see the Dubai hub page).
  • Philippine passport: not on the UAE visa-on-arrival lists, so arrange a visa before you fly. A visit entry permit (14 or 60 days) is limited to holders of qualifying documents, such as a US green card or a US visa valid 6+ months. Through-travelers can use a 48h/96h transit visa sponsored by the airline. See the Dubai hub page for exact conditions.

Pitfalls

  • Overseas Filipino Workers have extra exit documentation (OEC) requirements at NAIA; not covered here; check with your airline.
  • Departing Filipinos face IACAT departure checks and travel tax (see the Manila hub page).
  • Emirates' Manila flights depart around the clock (03:25, 07:45, 18:15, 23:55 per the schedule [S1]); late-night departures mean a long NAIA wait if you arrive by domestic flight.
