Which hub to pick and why

  • Fly nonstop on Qatar Airways. If you continue onward (Europe, Africa, Pakistan, the US), Doha is the hub. See the Doha hub page.
  • Doha's transit tours are paid (Discover Doha needs about 6 hours); they aren't free.

Passport notes for arriving in Doha

  • US passport: visa on arrival, 90 days per stay, with a hotel booking required (see the Doha hub page).
  • Philippine passport: on Qatar's paid-visa list; whether that's visa on arrival or advance Hayya registration isn't confirmed; check with your airline. Check the official Qatar portal before you go.

Pitfalls

  • Hamad closes gates 20 minutes before departure, and walking times between concourses can be long (see the Doha hub page).
  • Overseas Filipino Workers' exit paperwork (OEC) isn't covered here; check with your airline. IACAT checks and travel tax apply (see the Manila hub page).
